Battle for LA

In the early morning hours of February 25, 1945, US anti-aircraft shore artillery opened fire on an unidentified object in the skies above Los Angeles, California. Over the course of the next three hours, “swarms of planes” were reported as roaming the skies above the city of angels, though in the end the only actual damage was the result of traffic accidents, friendly fire from the attack, and in some cases, heart attacks caused by stress.

The public was later told that there the attack was a false alarm. Moonstone Books, however, has unearthed the government documents that show the real truth…and how some of the greatest heroes in pulp history fought back against the “event”…

Slated for production is our second collaboration with Moonstone Entertainment, Inc, the team-up special Battle for LA, which is part of Moonstone’s “Return of the Originals” line. Written by CJ Henderson with art by Mark Sparacio, and starring pulp heroes The Black Bat, Domino Lady, Secret Agent X, and The Phantom Detective, and classic comic character Airboy, America’s pulp and comic avengers pit their wits (and guns) against a menace from another world in a story actually inspired by true events.

Battle for LA features the vocal talents of: JOSH POLLOCK as THE PHANTOM DETECTIVE, JOHN STRAIN as THE BLACK BAT, KAREN STILWELL as THE DOMINO LADY, CHRIS MARTIN as AIRBOY, and MATT MORRIS as SECRET AGENT X. Also starring: GEOFFREY MUTCH, KEVIN DONNELLY, LANCE ROGER AXT, RYOTA SAITO, PERRY ALIADO, GEORGE Q. NGUYEN, and CHRISTOPHER PRICE.

Battle recorded in San Francisco in September of 2012 at Coast Recorders. The work was adapted by The AudioComics Company (from the prose novella by CJ Henderson and Mark Sparacio), and was directed by Lance Roger Axt.
